by Wendy Cardona Like many stay-at-home-moms, when the kids went to school, I found I had time on my hands. I looked into starting a home business to keep busy and to keep my mind active. You can’t just jump into any home business. First, you have to do some research and get the feel of what they are offering. If it seems too good to be true, click on another home business. There are literally thousands to choose from. Find out all you can about the home business you have chosen. Make sure they supply you with a business mailing address, a valid email address, a business telephone number and credentials of the people sponsoring your chosen home business. Check with the Better Business Bureau to see if they have received any complaints. Find out if you have pay to join, if there is a money-back guarantee, if you have to purchase products each month to remain an affiliate and if there are any other expenses involved. There WILL BE other expenses, e.g. advertising your business, upgrading, obtaining your own website and of course you will be bombarded with information, some free, some you will have to pay extra for. There are all kinds of “experts” waiting to sell you information or products that you MUST HAVE to run a successful home business. Be cautious. Research. Ask yourself - Do I really need this information or product right now (if ever)? Just start with the basics or else you will become frustrated and disillusioned. If this happens, step back and take a break. Just persevere and do not give up!
