If you think that developing and managing an email list is something others do—not as something that is absolutely crucial to the success of your internet home business—it’s time to drastically revise your thinking.
I know. I know. You’ve got your pay-per-click campaign working for you. Maybe you’ve set up a blog. Maybe you also send out articles or press release or two. But without a solid and growing email list—I hate to tell you—you’re internet marketing efforts are doomed to failure.
The reason is your customers are preoccupied with their daily lives, so you need to not only get, but keep on getting your sales message out in front of them. Only through repetition can you hope to build a solid home-based internet business.
Think of it this way. What would happen if you interviewed for a job, and you never followed up with the employer? Or you approached a customer about your product, and then never spoke to him or her again. You probably wouldn’t get the job or the sale, would you?
The same is true of trying to make sales on the internet—only more so. The internet is filled with distractions and offers and bargains and come-ons.
Thankfully, there are inexpensive ways of actually generating your own fresh leads and managing your communications with them. It works like this. You’re given a series of online storefronts, or "portals," that offer free or relatively inexpensive solutions to your prospects’ problems. Along with these portals, you’re given a way to hammer these very attractive offers out across the internet.
In filling out a brief form on any one of these websites, your prospect’s email, phone number, etc is captured and sent to the back office of your administrative website. Now all you have to do is direct a series of pre-written or customized emails to them!
Woe to those of you who are considering buying inexpensive leads by the tens of thousands, thinking you’ll inundate the marketplace! All you’re likely to do is succeed at getting some hot-headed individual to report you for illegally spamming them.
Make no mistake. You want fresh, willing, and targeted prospects. There just is no other way to really kick your home internet business into high gear.
