Why You Don't Want a 'Home-Based Business Opportunity'

If you are reading this someone has probably pitched their home business opportunity to you, right? And you are probably skeptical? Your thinking:
• Can I really make money from a Home-Based Business?
• It sounds too good to be true, is it?
• Are there any hidden costs I'm not being told about?
• Is this something that I can actually do?
The answer to these questions is unequivocally: Yes.

Here are some of the more important things you should answer before you say 'yes' or 'no' to the opportunity that has been presented to you.

1. Most Importantly - Mindset. Where is your head at right now? You must be prepared to step out of your comfort zone and work on changing the way you currently think. Let's face it; unless you are already successful at Direct Selling and Network Marketing, you will have a lot of learning to do. Are you prepared to invest personally and financially into what will be required to change the years of negative programming you have had? Are you willing to learn how to be a leader and how to communicate effectively with people? Depending on your prior programming you may even need to invest in additional courses, books, seminars, and mentoring programs.

2. Budget. Do you understand what it really takes to market a business? You can spend as much or as little as you want when marketing your new business but your results will be directly impacted by the amount of time, money, or effort you put in. NO BUSINESS SELLS ITSELF. NO PRODUCT SELLS ITSELF. Be realistic! You will need to set yourself a realistic marketing budget and create a marketing plan. It is true that you can market and sell your business and products with little or no budget at all but you have to know how.

3. Commitment. Desire, Drive, Determination. Have you got the staying power to run your small business until it's a big business, and overcome any obstacles that appear on your path? You will not have a boss to watch over you, tell you what to do next, and make sure you get your work done. You will be accountable only to yourself. Do you have the self-discipline it will require to work on your business every day? Desire is the key here, if your reason, your 'why' is big enough then you should be able to stay focused on the prize no matter what. Ask yourself what it is that you want to achieve from running your own business at home. Your real reason will hold more meaning to you than just money. Maybe you want to stay at home with the kids, you hate your job and want to fire your boss, or you want to retire financially secure in 2 years. Whatever your 'why' is, if the desire for it is strong enough it will cement your success in your Home Business.

So, is a Home-Based Business for you or not? Only you can answer this question. Remember that there is no such thing as 'get rich quick', and just as in any other business you will have to work on your Home-Based Business to build it into a successful enterprise. If you don't have the right mindset or desire to improve yourself, you have an unrealistic marketing budget, or you lack the commitment and self-motivation required to be triumphant in business then you probably shouldn't bother.
